Secrets Spa & Resort Huatulco Review

I had the great opportunity to visit Huatulco, Mexico and one of the properties I got to stay at was Secrets in Huatulco, Mexico. Secrets Resort and Spa is a luxury all-inclusive resort 7 km from Las Parotas Golf and 13 km from Parque Nacional Huatulco. It is a 20-minute drive from the airport.
When arriving at Secrets Resort in Huatulco Sleek, modern suites feature free Wi-Fi and flat-screen TVs, plus minibars, living areas, and furnished balconies with ocean views. Some add whirlpool tubs and direct pool access; 1-bedroom suites have living rooms, and duplex 2-bedroom suites include kitchenettes. Room service is available 24/7.

The Resort

When my taxi pulled up to the resort, I automatically knew that my stay was going to be amazing. We were greeted with cold towels that felt like heaven after being in the hot sun. The check-in process was very smooth and comfortable. The staff at the reception were fantastic. I was greeted with welcome cocktails and champagne. By the time I got to my room, I was already buzzing and excited to get my stay at this fantastic resort started. Moments into walking on to the property, you will notice that this resorts vibe is perfect for couples getting away for bae-cations, newlyweds, anniversaries or quick getaways. If you have a significant other and would like to spend quality time with each other, Secrets Huatulco is perfect for you and your loved one.

The Food

Secrets Huatulco Resort & Spa. On this property, you can have great options when it comes to food. There are nine restaurants on-site with food ranging from Mexican, Italian, Seafood and a mixture of typical North American cuisine. On my first night, I ate at a seafood restaurant, and the food was so amazing. I had the mahi-mahi fillet in white wine sauce, baby clam risotto & french style asparagus, and it was so amazing. Secrets Resort in Huatulco also has a 24-hour room service option that is by far one of the best room service meals that I’ve ever had. I ordered pancakes, eggs, turkey bacon, hash-brown, refried beans, toast and fruits and it was just spectacular.

The Beach

Right on Conejos Bay, the beach is lovely! From my room, it was a 3-minute walk. The water was nice and warm. Usually, when I go to the beach, I always jump in expecting the water to be freezing, but that wasn’t the case here, it was so warm. One great thing to know about the beach on this property is that it's a public beach, but it feels like its private. You will not find a lot of people on this beach; most of the time, residents staying on the resort can be found at this beach, which will still give you the private beach feeling.  

The Rooms

The rooms are pretty comfortable. I had a king-size bed with a beautiful pool/partial ocean-view room on the fifth level of the building. When I entered my room, I was amazed by how beautiful the rooms were and how much they made me feel at home. My room came with a very comfortable king-size bed, jacuzzi, 40-inch television, Nespresso machine, snacks, a minibar (small bottles of Bacardi and Johnnie Walker), stacked fridge with sodas/beers, toiletries like lotion, toothpaste, shampoo, body wash and much more. Overall I was more than satisfied with my room the bed, and at some points, I didn’t even want to leave my room.

Around The Resort

Secrets Resort & Spa in Huatulco is not like your average resort, as mentioned earlier, its a perfect resort for those who want to get away and spend time with your significant other. You will not clubs or party crowds at this property. You will find many restaurants and bars in the pool area. You can also have a romantic spa day (one of the best in Mexico), workout at the fitness centre or relax by the beach. The resort also throws on events throughout the day like classes sporting events, pool activities and much more. Even though its a calm and relaxing type of resort you will find some fun things to do in the day and evening.

What Else Is There to Know About Secrets Resort in Huatulco?

Secrets Huatulco Resort & Spa is spectacular for weddings. If you’re planning to get married and you want to do something different and get married on the beach or in a tropical setting, Secrets Huatulco is the resort to do it. The wedding coordinator and their staff on-site makes sure to have your wishes and dreams accomplished. If you can dream it, they can achieve it. While I was there, I was visiting with a few fellow travel advisors. They put on a fantastic ceremony for us to give us a feeling of how a real wedding would look like if you were to have your wedding there. The presentation of everything was fantastic. Secrets Huatulco has the facilities to accommodate the ceremony and the reception for ANY wedding, and they proved it to us! Secrets in Huatulco presentation are everything to them. The way they take pride in the display of the decorations, entertainment, food and beverages is fantastic! See below to get a drift of what they did for us!

If you’re looking for a resort with your loved one to spend some quality time with then yes! Secrets Resort & Spa in Huatulco is PERFECT if you’re getting married or celebrating an anniversary. They will go above and beyond to help with your celebrations with things such as decorating your door, complimentary champagne, special dinners, discounts on spa services and so much more.
If you’re looking for a resort that’s lively and lots of music and parties I would recommend looking somewhere else. I personally got some downtime while staying here. I was able to relax in the comfort of my own room and when I felt like getting some sun I would take a 3-minute walk to the beach and enjoy the warm water on the beach.
